Bhubaneswar: Scripting success stories in the illustrious journey of its 1st decade, AIIMS Bhubaneswar obtained a new distinction in September. Three teams from the National Institute comprising 6 university medical residents obtained first positions in three different national level academic events in respective disciplines.
The team of Junior Resident Physicians comprising of Dr. Debanjan Baral and Dr. Souvik Bhattacharjee from the PMR (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) Department of AIIMS Bhubaneswar was awarded 1st position in Quiz (Offline Mode) at IAPMR (Indian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) CME Midterm held at AIIMS Nagpur. The team repeated history by being champions for 2n/a consecutive times at the Quiz national level as the IAPMR completes its 50e glorious year of existence in 2022. It can be noted here that at the beginning of this year, Dr. Sankha Subhra Roy (passed out JR) and Dr. Debanjan Baral also obtained 1st place for the Quiz (online mode) at IAPMRCON held in Delhi in March.
The Senior Resident Physicians of the Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery, Dr. Kaushik Mahadik and Dr. M Vishnu Swaroop Reddy, won the top prize in 3rd National CMF on Vascular Access for Hemodialysis-2022 organized by Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, BJGMC & SGH, Pune.
Likewise, AIIMS Pulmonary Department Resident Physicians Dr. Debopam Chatterjee and Dr. Rohit Shirgaonkar placed first in both the PULMOCON-2022 National Quiz Playoffs and Finals. The 20e “Annual Pulmonary Medicine Update” organized by the Institute of Pulmocare & Research at CII Suresh Neotia Centre, Kolkata.
The Executive Director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Prof. (Dr) Ashutosh Biswas congratulated the champions today and congratulated all resident doctors. Sharing encouraging words, Dr. Biswas reiterated that young Docs should come forward and make the national institute victorious in different segments both nationally and internationally.
DEAN (Academic) Dr PR Mohapatra, Registrar BB Mishra, Burns & Plastic Surgery HoD Dr Sanjay Giri, PMR HoD Dr Jagannath Sahoo and DDA (I/c) Rashmi Ranjan Sethy were also present on the occasion.
